The operating I is a central executive or working self described as a center of receptive-reactive presence that functions to immerse itself in/as the subjective contents of thoughts (and in/as sensory-perceptual stimuli in the surroundings), followed by its “face-up” or “face-down” surfacing from that immersion in order to objectify, identify, and react to those contents via conceptual narratives in the service of cognition and human information processing.
